BlackHawk Paramotors USA is now offering The Bush Cat weight-shift control aircraft! The Bush Cat is basically a Powered Hang Glider with wheels. IT has 3 main parts:
- -THE WING: A flexible hang glider wing, very similar to what foot launched hang glider pilots use. With a much higher glide-ratio than a Powered Paraglider! Made by North Wing in the 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸
- -THE TRIKE: Proudly mounted on BlackHawk’s signature LowBoy 3 – A three-wheeled trike frame with a comfortable seat, Alaskan Tundra Tires, Foot throttle, and a Hydraulic Disk Brake, and a sleek well-defined look.
- THE ENGINE & PROP: You have choices! Powerhouse 4-Stroke and 2-Stroke options to choose from. BlackHawk specializes in the newest 4-Stroke technology and are the exclusive importers of the Helvenco Aero 1000 fuel-injected, water cooled, 4-Stroke! As well as the EOS Quattro Air-Cooled, Normally Aspirated 4-Stroke!
Instead of using traditional airplane controls like a yoke or stick with control surfaces, the pilot controls direction by shifting weight.
- Push the bar forward … the nose comes up … you climb or slow down.
- Pull the bar back … the nose goes down … you begin to lose elevation.
- Move the bar left or right … the aircraft turns in that direction.
It’s mechanically simple, lightweight, and usually flies slower than most small airplanes. Typical cruise speeds are around 23 to 50 mph. This speed range is adjusted by the position of the control bar and your throttle. The Bush Cat is lightweight enough to qualify under FAR Part 103 as a NON-LICENSED SPORT! (depending on configuration) This means no Pilot License required!
